We are pleased to announce that Hassan Allam Technologies (HAT)- a subsidiary of Hassan Allam Holding- has been recently awarded the “Benha-Port Said Railway” project with Siemens/Egyptian National Railways (ENR).

The project involves the modernization of 260 km of railway networks (with 21 stations) with advanced technology for signaling, level-crossings and communications, in which HAT’s scope includes civil & MEP works, signaling installation, and trenching telecommunications infrastructure .
The upgrade will be carried out on rail corridors from Zagazig to Abu Kebir in the north of Cairo and from Benha to Port Said, a strategic port situated on the northern end of the Suez Canal to the Mediterranean Sea. These upgrades, which are part of the Egyptian National Railways (ENR) plan to modernize Egypt’s rail system, aim at increasing safety levels and raising the railway’s maximum speed from 140 km/h to 160 km/h. Commissioning is expected to be completed and the routes are expected to be operational by 2020.
