Hassan Allam Utilities alongside Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) and Infinity Power signed an agreement with Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority to secure land to build a 10 GW capacity onshore wind farm in Egypt, set to be one of the largest in the world.
The signing was witnessed by the Egyptian Prime Minister, HE Moustafa Madbouly, HE Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, HE Dr Mohamed Shaker El-Markabi, Minister for Electricity and Renewable Energy, Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding, Amr Allam, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Hassan Allam Holding, Dalia Wahba, CEO of Hassan Allam Utilities, Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar, and Nayer Fouad, Chief Executive Officer of Infinity Power.
The landmark wind project will produce 47,790 GWh of clean energy per year and reduce around 9% of Egypt’s annual carbon emissions by displacing 23.8 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. The wind farm will also help Egypt meet its strategic objective of sourcing 42% of its energy from renewables by 2030. The 10 GW plant will save the North African nation an estimated US$ 5 billion in natural gas costs a year.

Hassan Allam Construction, a subsidiary of Hassan Allam Holding, has been awarded a landmark USD 250 million contract for the construction of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) African Trade Centre, the bank’s largest global complex, which will also host its new headquarters building, to be located in the New Capital of Egypt.
Among the top dignitaries who attended the stone-laying ceremony for the construction of AATC in the New Capital was H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Eng. Hassan Allam, CEO of Hassan Allam Holding, Eng. Mohamed El Dahshoury, CEO of Hassan Allam Construction, Dr. George Elombi, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Afreximbank.
The project includes the turnkey construction of a comprehensive development that will serve as Afreximbank&#8217;s global headquarters. The scope covers the main Afreximbank Headquarters Building, a 110-room apartment hotel. The complex will also feature trade and business facilities, including a knowledge and innovation hub, corporate museum, SME incubation centre, a 750-seater conference centre, exhibition spaces, retail and dining outlets, support facilities, and a 1,200-bay parking structure.
In addition to full civil works, the contract covers comprehensive electrical and mechanical systems, hard and soft landscaping, as well as the complete supply and installation of Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&amp;E). The project is designed as a green, sustainable project, reflecting Afreximbank&#8217;s and Hassan Allam Holding&#8217;s commitment to modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible built environments. Together, these elements will form a modern African Trade Centre designed to facilitate trade, policy dialogue, and collaboration across the continent.

The AATC is meant not simply to accommodate the expansion of the Bank, but to address the lack of trade and investment information among African businesses, a challenge that has confounded the growth of intra-African trade and investment for nearly seven decades.”
He added: “We envision the project will be completed within 36 months and will create approximately 8,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction, and approximately 1,000 jobs during the operational phase. The iconic twin-tower New Capital AATC will position Egypt as a trade hub. It will house tech and SME incubation centres, as well as a digital African trade gateway offering trade information, customer due diligence, payments, and other digital services. The AATC also comes with conference and exhibition facilities to boost tourism and create jobs for local Egyptians.”
This collaboration goes further than conventional financing arrangements, anchored instead in a shared vision for infrastructure development, sustainability, and Africa&#8217;s economic transformation. Through successive financing rounds, structured guarantees, and joint investment in high-impact projects, both institutions have repeatedly demonstrated their unwavering commitment to advancing transformational initiatives across the continent.

The planned community spans more than 228,000 m² with an investment value exceeding SAR 3.3 billion, contributing to the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Housing Program, which aims to increase homeownership to 70% by 2030 through public-private partnerships led by the NHC. The development aligns with Riyadh’s broader efforts to establish mixed-use, sustainable communities that enhance quality of life and social well-being.

Hassan Allam Utilities Energy Platform, a renewable energy investment vehicle established by Hassan Allam Utilities and co-owned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and Meridiam announced  along with Infinity Power, Africa’s largest renewable energy company the signing of complementary agreements with the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to develop two major renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 1,200 MW of solar power and 720 MWh of battery storage. This is the second project for Hassan Allam Utilities  Energy in Egypt
The agreements were signed in the presence of Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and represent a major step forward in implementing Egypt’s National Energy Strategy. The projects aim to maximize the role of renewable energy in the national mix, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, and enhance grid stability through advanced storage technologies.
Under the signed agreements, the consortium will develop a 200 MW solar power plant in Benban targeting to reach commercial operation within Q3 2026 , including 120 MWh of connected battery storage, and a 1,000 MW solar power plant in Minya, incorporating 600 MWh of storage capacity targeting to reach commercial operation within Q3 2027. These landmark projects will play a vital role in supporting Egypt’s ambition to increase the contribution of renewables to 42% of the total energy mix by 2030, and 65% by 2040, reinforcing the country’s position as a regional leader in clean energy and sustainable development.
Infinity Power continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Africa’s renewable energy landscape. With a growing portfolio of solar, wind, and storage projects across Egypt, South Africa, and Senegal, the company is driving innovation and regional integration in clean energy. Its strategic focus on scalable technologies and grid infrastructure—positions Infinity Power as a key enabler of energy security and sustainability across the continent, with a clear vision to reach 10 GW of operational capacity by 2030.

Today, the Hassan Allam Utilities Energy Platform holds a current portfolio of 2.3 GW under development and expected to achieve commercial operation in phases starting Q3 2026 and ending in Q3 2027 with a total investment of USD 2 billion, alongside a pipeline of 1.65 GW with an expected total investment cost of USD 1.5 billion, which includes 350 MW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind projects. This new collaboration marks another milestone in expanding the platform’s clean energy footprint and advancing Egypt’s renewable energy ambitions.

This tunnel forms part of the larger Cairo Metro Line 4, where Hassan Allam Construction is building 3 out of 12 stations, covering a total stretch of 14 km from Hadaek Al Ashgar in 6th of October City to El Mesaha in Al Haram.

YANMU Logistics Park secures EDGE Advanced Certification for the CIB Funded Sustainable Warehouses 
Cairo – YANMU EAST Logistics Park has achieved EDGE Advanced certification for its sustainably designed warehouses. This accomplishment underscores YANMU’s leadership in sustainable logistics infrastructure in Egypt. YANMU Logistics Park marks the first collaborative venture between HAU Logistics, an established logistics-focused investment platform between Hassan Allam Utilities and A.P. Moller Capital, and Agility in establishing cutting-edge logistics parks and Grade A warehouses in Egypt.
EDGE, which stands for &#8220;Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies,&#8221; is a green building standard and certification system developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector development arm of the World Bank Group. It promotes sustainable development by encouraging resource-efficient designs that reduce emissions and operational costs. To support these sustainability goals, IFC offers a 2.8% cashback on construction loans for projects that meet EDGE standards in collaboration with CIB.
At YANMU East Logistics Park, three warehouses have already achieved EDGE Advanced certification, boasting impressive savings: 49% in energy, 53% in water, and a 59% reduction in embodied carbon. Additionally, three more warehouses are on track to earn certification upon their completion later this year, further enhancing the park’s green building portfolio.
Previously, YANMU Logistics Park secured EGP 1.5 billion in financing from CIB to construct the YANMU East Logistics Park. This significant investment has facilitated the development of cutting-edge, eco-friendly warehouses.

The Development of South Valley of Toshka Region

Saudi Tunneling Company for Contracting (STCC), a subsidiary of Hassan Allam Construction Saudi, has been awarded the micro-tunneling works for the waterline supplying the 3rd Ring Road in the Al Adl area of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, for the the National Water Company (NWC).
Our scope of work includes the installation of DN3000 mm reinforced concrete jacking sleeve pipes without liners, followed by the insertion of Ø2500 mm steel carrier pipes and grouting the annular space between the sleeve and carrier pipes.
This critical tunneling operation is part of the new water network, designed to enhance water supply infrastructure in Makkah while maintaining the highest standards of precision and sustainability. Cairo, Egypt; 31 December 2024: ACWA Power, the world&#8217;s largest private water desalination company, leader in energy transition and first mover into green hydrogen, together with consortium partner HAU Energy, a subsidiary of Hassan Allam Utilities, have achieved the financial close for the 1.1GW Suez Wind Farm in Egypt, the largest single-contracted wind farm in the Middle East. The project will play an important role in supporting the Egyptian government in achieving its target of increasing the share of renewable energy in its electricity generation mix to 42% by 2040.
The project secured a USD 703.6 million senior debt facility from a consortium of banks including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the African Development Bank (AFDB), the British International Investment Corporation, the German Investment Corporation, the OPEC Fund for International Development, and the Arab Petroleum Investments Corporation (APICORP). The senior debt funded by EBRD included a B loan structure provided by Standard Chartered Bank and Arab Bank.
Located in the Gulf of Suez and the Gabal El-Zeit area, the Suez Wind Farm has an overall investment value of USD 1.2 billion. ACWA Power holds a 70% stake in the project, with HAU Energy owning the remaining 30%.
The project will contribute to eliminating 1.1 million tonnes of carbon dioxide annually and will be implemented in two phases with a capacity of 550MW for each phase, with a total of 138 turbines. The capacity of each turbine will reach about 8MW and a height of about 210 metres per turbine. The project is expected to achieve full commercial operations by Q2 2027.

ACWA Power has had a presence in Egypt since 2015, and currently has two other facilities in the country that are operational, including a 120MW solar PV project in Benban, and a 200MW solar PV facility in Kom Ombo. In 2023, the company was allocated 3,000 square kilometres of land west of Sohag for a 10GW wind project. ACWA Power is also exploring opportunities to develop a green hydrogen project in Egypt, with an initial planned capacity of 600,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually.

Cairo, Egypt – 18th December 2024: AD Ports Group (ADX: ADPORTS), a leading facilitator of global trade, logistics and industry, today appointed Hassan Allam Construction, Hassan Allam Holding’s flagship subsidiary and one of the leading contractors in Egypt and the MENA region, to build the infrastructure of Noatum Ports &#8211; Safaga Terminal on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, which will be the first internationally operated port terminal in Upper Egypt region.

The terminal’s area will encompass approximately 810,000 square metres, with 450,000 TEUs container capacity, 5 million tonnes dry bulk and general cargo capacity, 1 million tonnes liquid bulk capacity, Ro-Ro facilities with 50,000 CEUs capacity, as well as common areas. The multiple facilities will include administration buildings, workshops, warehouses, and authority buildings, along with extensive infrastructure development including roads, utilities and security systems.

The project will feature a 48,000 square metre concrete apron, an 80,354 square metre container terminal with supporting infrastructure, and approximately 66,360 square metres for general cargo and break-bulk operations.

The terminal is part of approximately USD 349 million in investments made by the Group in Egypt over the last three years, which includes the purchases of maritime companies Transmar, TCI and Safina, the planned construction of a Ro-Ro terminal in Ain Sokhna, and long-term concessions to develop and operate cruise terminals in Safaga, Hurghada, Ain Sokhna and Sharm El-Sheikh.

The UAE is Egypt’s second-largest trading partner and its biggest international investor, according to the Egyptian Commercial Service (ECS), with USD 9.6 billion invested in the country in 2023.
