Established in Egypt in 1999, the company has developed a strong reputation for delivering reliable and sustainable water supply solutions through the development, ownership, and operation of desalination facilities.

Ridgewood Egypt for Infrastructure Projects was founded to deliver water and energy solutions on a Build-Own-Operate (BOO) basis. Since its inception, the company has continuously expanded its operations vertically and horizontally, leveraging its technical expertise and operational experience to meet the growing demand for water services across Egypt.

In November 2020, Hassan Allam Utilities and Almar Water Solutions completed the acquisition of Ridgewood, strengthening the company’s financial capabilities, technical diversification, and long-term strategic vision. This partnership positioned Ridgewood to further expand its footprint in the water sector and to contribute to addressing Egypt’s growing water demand through sustainable infrastructure solutions. And today, Hassan Allam Utilities have purchased Almar’s share in Ridgewood to be 100% owned by Hassan Allam Group.

Today, Ridgewood is recognized as Egypt’s leading private-sector desalination operator, supplying desalinated water to a wide range of clients including hotels, residential developments, and industrial facilities across Egypt’s key coastal regions such as the Red Sea, South Sinai, the North Coast, and Ain Sokhna.
The company designs, builds, owns, and operates desalination plants using advanced reverse osmosis (RO) technology, providing reliable water supply solutions in areas where conventional freshwater resources are limited. Ridgewood also operates desalination facilities on behalf of third-party clients through operation and maintenance agreements, further expanding its presence in the water utilities sector.
